The Grinding Room is the raw materials research hub for the Division of Ceramic Art at Alfred University. Our mission is to support artistic research via ceramic materials, serving the community of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.

Regular hours are 8am to 4pm, Monday thru Friday. until Dec 12th, 2025.

Dec 15-19th by appointment only

Grinding Room will be closed from Dec 20-Jan 4, 2026

By appointment only Jan 5-16th, 2026

Regular M-F 8-4 hours resume Jan 19th, 2026.
